Skin Trade - Laurell K. Hamilton

I first read the 17th in the Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter series by borrowing the hardback from the library. Then, I purchased the paperback from Amazon.
Anita gets a head in the mail and finds out it is basically a summons to Vegas - ten officers and one executioner have been slain there. Anita is joined in Vegas by Edward, Olaf and Bernardo - all federal marshals. There are powerful weretigers in Vegas, as well, so Anita has to really keep control.
I loved it - lots of police stuff, she really did her SWAT research and everything on this one. There is lots of tension with Anita and the cops, some great Edward, Olaf and Bernardo scenes, and she still manages to get some really steamy scenes in there for you too. Was a little bit bummed about missing out on several usual main characters but, didn't make the story lack at all - early series traditionalist will like this one.
